A faster inbox

Product update · November 7, 2026

The inbox opens with its mail in place, and the folders, conversations, and searches you return to show up at once.

The inbox arrives with its first page of mail, and sender details follow just after, so the list never waits for them.

A folder, label, or search you already opened in this tab shows its mail at once while it checks for changes behind it, and it reflects every change you made there.

While one conversation saves, you can keep archiving, deleting, and starring other rows.

Opening a conversation also prepares the one next to it, so moving through your mail skips the wait.

After you open a conversation, its row shows a short preview of the newest message.

Typing a search no longer redraws your message list; the search runs when you press Enter.

New Inbox mail joins the top of the list while you read at the top without writing or selecting; otherwise the new-mail notice waits for you.

Archive and Snoozed open sooner when many conversations are snoozed.
